Ways To Build And Strengthen Courage Part 2Ways To Build And Strengthen CourageĀ  Part 2

Take action. If you sit and think about your fears, they will stop you. When you start to take action, then you are forced to devote at least a portion of your awareness to thinking about the action. By taking action, you get so caught up in it that the fear will begin to lose its grip over you.

Practice. Once you know you can do something, you develop much more courage to do it again. And the only way to truly know you can do something is to do it. Practice builds courage, whether it is for a golf tournament, a job interview, a client presentation, a musical performance, expressing your opinion, or just about anything else.

Draw inspiration from others. Courage can be contagious. When you can see and appreciate the courage in others, that courage resonates in you. Knowing that others have successfully done it helps bring forward your courage to do it.

Explore. Exploration embodies some of the most positive qualities that can be developed. It is an act of faith, of courage, optimism, confidence, discipline and self-reliance. Exploration is curiosity with commitment, with a willingness to take risks, and with the potential for great reward. The best explorers are serious and disciplined enough to survive, yet at the same time bold, open-minded and energetic. Explorers are highly resourceful, making the most use of what they have. Explorers are clearly focused, and yet always maintain a child-like wonder at the discoveries that are unfolding around them. Whatever you do, take time to explore. There are so many things for you to discover — places, people, ideas, techniques, perspectives. Exploration will build your courage and bring out the best in you.

Challenge yourself to learn new things, to meet new people, to consider new concepts, to undertake projects that demand the best you have to give. When you challenge yourself, you build the courage to successfully meet the outside challenges that come your way.

Often, as the objective gets nearer, the challenges become more severe. Skill, knowledge, discipline and understanding will get you started and well on the way. It is courage that will bring you to the finish, through the last difficult mile when it seems that it has all been for naught. Courage will carry you through to the completion of your journey, to the fulfillment of your goals.

Courage is readily available to you, and it can make the difference between mediocrity and outstanding success. You have the capacity for enormous courage, when you are willing to use it. Find your courage, nurture and build it, and make the most of your life with it.
